The We Up hit maker’s coming into the game has inspired many young people. According to him, the transition from being signed to a record label to starting his own independent label has not been a walk in the park.

During an interview on Morning Live, the rapper shared the challenges he faced in the wake of building his own Record Label. Everything was sort of laid out for you, you didn’t have to do much. Make music, and everything else is done.” Emtee said.

He further explained that he is now the one responsible for all the activities at his label, and it’s his responsibility to do all the quality control. This time around I do music, I do the submitting, I do the tracklisting, you name it,” he explained.

The rapper has strived under his new record label and has been working with young rappers to revive the hip hop game that is being said to be dead by some. Responding to the acclaimed Producer Makwa who asked on Twitter TL if hip hop sessions are still existing in the hood. “Do we still have hip hop sessions and cyphers in the hoods? In my hood I know they don’t have those anymore,” tweeted Makwa.

Emtee responded to the acclaimed producer’s Twitter thread sharing the reason why the said hip hop sessions are no longer in existence. “Nah. They made SA hip hop a joke so kids aren’t inspired anymore. They scared to rap cos of labels, society and culture vultures who claim there’s no future in hip hop,” responded Emtee.

The Logan hitmaker is currently making progress with his record label and has signed great rappers in Lolli Native and Flash Ikumkani. These rappers have released some great tracks, with Lolli Native’s “Andapende” making waves in the hip hop space.
